✨ Why Disney’s Riviera Resort Became One of Our Favorite Deluxe Resorts

There are a lot of incredible Disney resorts to choose from, and every family has different priorities when planning a Walt Disney World vacation.

Some want the most immersive Disney theming.

Others are looking for the best pool, the easiest transportation, or the most spacious accommodations.

For our family, Disney’s Riviera Resort checked almost every box.

We stayed here in a one-bedroom villa, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful retreat from the excitement of the parks. It combines beautiful European-inspired design with thoughtful amenities, fantastic dining, and one of my favorite transportation options at Walt Disney World—the Disney Skyliner.

As both a travel advisor and a Disney enthusiast, it’s a resort I genuinely enjoy recommending to the right clients because it offers a wonderful blend of luxury and convenience.

First Impressions

One of the first things we noticed about Riviera Resort was how easy it was to navigate.

Unlike some Disney resorts that are spread across multiple buildings, everything at Riviera is housed in one main building. That might sound like a small detail, but after a long day in the parks, it makes a big difference.

Whether you’re heading back to your room, grabbing breakfast, or catching the Skyliner, everything is just a short walk away.

For families with young children, grandparents, or anyone who appreciates convenience, this layout is a huge advantage.

Spacious Villas That Feel Like Home

Our family stayed in a one-bedroom villa, and it quickly became one of our favorite Disney accommodations.

Having separate living and sleeping spaces gave everyone room to relax after busy park days. The full kitchen made it easy to enjoy breakfast before heading out each morning, and having a washer and dryer in the villa was a welcome bonus—especially on a longer vacation.

These little conveniences can make a big difference, particularly for families traveling with kids.

The Skyliner Is a Game-Changer

If you’ve followed my Disney content for a while, you already know how much I love the Disney Skyliner.

The Riviera Resort has its own Skyliner station, making it incredibly easy to travel to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Instead of waiting for a bus, you can often be gliding above Walt Disney World with beautiful views before your park day even begins.

It’s one of my favorite transportation options because it’s efficient, relaxing, and part of the Disney experience itself.

As a travel advisor, transportation is one of the first things I discuss with clients because it has such a big impact on the overall vacation experience. For many families, the Skyliner is a feature that can make Riviera Resort especially appealing.

Dining We Look Forward To

One of the highlights of our stay was the food.

Primo Piatto

Disney’s quick-service restaurant, Primo Piatto, exceeded our expectations.

Whether we were grabbing breakfast before heading to the parks or stopping for a meal after a busy day, everything felt fresh, flavorful, and well prepared.

It’s one of those quick-service locations that I’d happily visit even if I wasn’t staying at the resort.

Topolino’s Terrace

If you’re planning a stay at Riviera Resort, I highly recommend making time for Topolino’s Terrace.

The character breakfast has become one of our favorite dining experiences at Walt Disney World.

Seeing Mickey and friends dressed as artists while enjoying a delicious breakfast makes for such a memorable start to the day. The atmosphere feels relaxed, the food is excellent, and it’s one of those experiences we still talk about long after the vacation ends.

It’s the perfect combination of Disney magic and exceptional dining.

Beautiful Details Around Every Corner

One of my favorite things about Riviera Resort is its atmosphere.

The elegant architecture, beautiful artwork, thoughtfully designed gardens, and peaceful spaces make it feel different from any other Disney resort.

Even on a busy vacation, it encourages you to slow down.

Take a walk around the grounds.

Relax in the courtyard.

Enjoy the views from the Skyliner station.

Sometimes those quieter moments become some of the most memorable parts of the trip.

Is Riviera Resort Right for Your Family?

As a travel advisor, one question I hear often is:

“Is Riviera Resort worth it?”

My answer is that it depends on what you value most.

If you’re looking for:

✔️ Deluxe accommodations

✔️ Spacious villas

✔️ Incredible dining

✔️ Convenient Skyliner transportation

✔️ A resort that’s easy to navigate

✔️ A relaxing atmosphere between park days

…then Riviera Resort deserves a spot at the top of your list.

While every Disney resort has its own personality, Riviera offers a wonderful balance of elegance, convenience, and family-friendly amenities.

My Final Thoughts

Our stay at Disney’s Riviera Resort left a lasting impression.

From the spacious villa and outstanding dining to the convenience of the Skyliner and the peaceful atmosphere, it became one of those resorts we’d happily return to.

As someone who helps families plan Disney vacations, I know that choosing the right resort can shape the entire trip. That’s why I spend time getting to know each client’s travel style, priorities, and budget before making recommendations.

The “best” Disney resort isn’t the same for every family.

But for those who value convenience, exceptional dining, and a relaxing place to come home to after a day in the parks, Disney’s Riviera Resort is one I’d recommend again and again.

If you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation and wondering which resort is the best fit for your family, I’d love to help. Together, we can find the resort that matches your travel style and helps you create unforgettable memories.
