Magic Kingdom with Toddlers: Best/Worst Attractions

The Magic Kingdom is the quintessential Disney World park and a toddler’s dream.  Here, I am going to break down the best and worst attractions for toddlers by ‘land’.

Magic Kingdom, Toddlers, Attractions, Disney

Main Street USA

Best

  • Meet Mickey (talking Mickey)
  • Meet Tinker Bell
  • Trolley Show
  • Walt Disney World Railroad

Worst

  • None, but don’t get too distracted on your way in with all of the shops.

Adventureland

Best

  • Jungle Cruise
  • Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Worst

  • Pirates of the Caribbean (love the ride, but some toddlers might be frightened)
  • Enchanted Tiki Room (love this retro attraction, but toddlers might be scared or bored here)
  • Swiss Family Treehouse (too many stairs for toddlers)

Frontierland

Best

  • Tom Sawyers Island (lots of walking, but is an oasis for an overstimulated toddler.  Also, Aunt Polly’s is the perfect spot to nurse or rock a sleepy baby.)
  • Country Bear Jamboree (super cheesy, but my girls LOVE this!)

Worst

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (even if they make the height requirement, this might be too thrilling for little ones)
  • Splash Mountain (too thrilling)

Tom Sawyer

Liberty Square

Best

  • Liberty Square Riverboat (great way to relax when overstimulated)

Worst

  • Haunted Mansion (too dark)

Liberty Saaquare Riverboat (1)

Fantasyland

Best

  • Dumbo
  • It’s a Small World
  • Mad Tea Party (My toddlers love this, but you know your child best.  There are a lot of little ones that do not do well on this.)
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • Casey Junior Splash Station (I have major Dumbo fans so they literally could spend hours here)
  • Meeting ALL the characters (Ariel, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Minnie/Daisy, Donald/Goofy)
  • Prince Charming’s Royal Carousel
  • Seven Dwarves Mine Train (might be intense for some, but my three year old loved it)
  • Barnstormer
  • Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid

Worst

  • Philharmagic (This is the only attraction I haven’t taken my little ones one.  I love this 4D show, but it is a bit dark/loud and might be frightening to some.)

Tomorrowland

Best

  • Astro Orbiter (My two year old loved this even even went on it a second time, but I can picture a lot of little ones not liking this)
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover (This does go into Space Mountain briefly which might frighten some little ones, but it’s only momentarily)

Worst

  • Stich’s Great Escape (I do not recommend this for any ‘toddlers’)
  • Tomorrowland Speedway (If they’re too little to ‘drive’, they’re too little to ride.  That being said, my three year old is realllly wanting to do this next time.  Plan accordingly, this is a slow loading attraction.)
